Title: 4K UHD-friendly drives and firmware
Post by: phusis on September 19, 2021, 04:57:19 am
I'm thinking of upgrading my HTPC Blu-ray drive with a 4K UHD capable ditto for playback of such discs. I'm using JRiver MC28 (latest update), and my OS is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Question is: which UHD-friendly internal drives are currently available with the proper firmware version(s) to allow for playback and ripping of 4K UHD discs in my HTPC? Would I need additional software apart from AnyDVD HD that I use now, or is it only possible to view 4K UHD discs after having ripped them to a hard drive via MakeMKV, that is now integrated in MC28?

I've send you a pm aswell.

Enjoy 4k !
