Title: Quad Vena II DAC
Post by: Orac on July 12, 2020, 02:41:41 am
Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of using the Quad Vena II built in DAC? I am trying to play DSD files but am only getting static.

I have selected "IUSBAudio ASIO Driver [ASIO]" as the audio device and have set the Bitstreaming mode to "Yes (DSD)" I can see on the Vena control panel that the frequency changes to correctly match the DSD file (I have a selection of DSD64 and DSD128 files), but I just get static when it plays back. If I set Bitstreaming mode to "None" then it works as expected and converts to PCM.
I also have an iFi Nano iDSD which works perfectly in Bitstreaming mode.
I'm wondering if it's the ASIO drivers for the Quad, Windows 10 is not listed as supported, but all other playback formats work, just not DSD streams.

I'm using MC24 64-bit on Windows 10.
