Title: mixing Mac and Windows on JRiver - is this possible
Post by: Derekw14 on September 29, 2014, 10:06:16 pm
Is it possible to use JRiver for windows on a laptop (connected to the DAC via USB), to access a music library stored on a Mac desktop (mostly in iTunes)? All machines are connected to the router via RJ45 and can be seen on the network, but I can't seem to import the music library successfully.
Between two windows machines, it used to work well, but after having swapped our old desktop PC for a shiny iMac, the Windows laptop running JRiver does not seem to be able to import the music folder residing on the Mac; the Mac is seen on the network, I can point JRiver to the right folder, but after having pressed Finish, the import process is looking for files and not finding any. Please help!? thanks

You could use Library Server for this.  Read about Media Network on the wiki.
