Title: Double conversion for burning CD
Post by: Abe1 on April 19, 2002, 07:16:54 pm
I am running MJ 7.2.272 and I have lots of .ape files. In order to burn a CD with .ape files, I decided to run test mode first. MJ converted all ape files and stopped. I had to uncheck test mode to start burning the CD. MJ started to convert again wasting lots of time. I have used Easy CD creator and it has test and create is a single step. Is it possible to do it in MJ? If not in 7.2, does MJ 8 support this function. Choice of TAO DAO would also help.

Abe1,
There is a choice on most burners for DAO or TAO but they don't call it that. It's the "Add two second gap" check box. When it's on, it's TAO and when it's off, it's DAO. Some burners it doesn't work on and it's always TAO in that case.

I did not know Easy CD Creater handled APE files if your burning audio disks, Data Disks Yes Audio Disks No (Or i don't think it does).

if you burn APE files in MJ as a data disk it should not convert also.

i will look into this when i get home.

Nope don't see anything about Easy CD Creater making audio cd's with .APE files

I did not mean to imply that Easy CD Creator can handle APE. I am trying to burn audio an audio CD, where conversion is necessary. It would be nice if MJ made "test & burn" one opearations.
