Title: Country Tag
Post by: jeffcdo on January 18, 2016, 06:14:23 am
I just recently started to use the country tag, but I'm finding that it there is something about the drop-down check box menu that causes JRiver to crash.  Is there a way I can simply turn this off?

I don't understand the question.  [Country] is a database field.  It's used just like any other field.  I've just tried it in the Tagging Window and it worked as expected.  I could check a value, uncheck a value, add a new value, and save.

If you can describe your issue more, maybe someone can help.  A screen shot or two might be helpful.

Brian.

i'm windows version, but i know this issue.  for me it happened with every tag field that has a dropdown (track # was the most reliable crash field for me), there was a point where i couldn't tag at all

i wish i could say i had a solution, but in my case it fixed itself after (quite a few) builds, never did figure out what changelog fixed it.  i had some correspondence with JRiver on it and sent them some offending FLAC files and log files etc.

The other night, every time I checked a box to select a country, JRiver would crash.  However trying to replicate it this morning to take screen shots it's working fine!

EDIT: Still crashing.  It seems to have something to do with the drop down list and checkboxes.  I'm not sure what to do about it other that stop using that field.  I'm sorry for the poor wording of my question.  I assumed a quick fix might be to simply disable the dropdown checklist (if that's possible), thereby making it behave as any other field.

Where are you editing this drop down box?  In the Tagging Action Window (on the left)?  Or directly in the file listing (on the right)?  Or somewhere else?

i had a few bad .cue files that were reproducing the crash, but unfortunately it started happening with albums that didn't have .cue

did you try rolling back a version or 2 and seeing if it still crashes?

I have not tried this.  I'm a little hesitant as everything else seems stable.
