Title: Feature request: "Repair" a portable installation?
Post by: mattlovell on October 15, 2021, 07:06:24 pm
Would it be possible for MC to "repair" a database that, after its creation, was subsequently converted for use with a portable install?

Please see the attached screenshot to see the problem of which I speak.  Old files, that were populated in the database originally, show filenames that start with "F:\".  Newer files, subsequent to using the portable installation, instead show "(Install Drive):".

I've tried various forms of textual substitution, to no avail.  It's been a while, but I think I also tried RMC (Rename, Move, & Copy Files) with no success.

What would be ideal is to convert all files to paths starting with "(Install Drive):".  At present, I just make sure to always map this portable USB drive to F:\ to make use of this installation.

Thanks for any consideration!

FWIW, performing

   Update Library (from tags)

from Library Tools seems to be accomplishing the desired cleanup!  Following that action, the Filename MC shown adopts the (Install Drive):\ initial path.
