I believe I have found the cheapest solution for a multi-zone Audio system.
1) What about settings one Sound Card per zone, on the JRiver server using the Transmitter of the following bundle: "Creative Labs Sound Blaster Wireless Audio Transmitter and Receiver Bundle". I tried already one of those and the Transmitter shows up as an extra sound card.
2) Then, some decent PC speakers, and the Receiver from above, for each of the zones.
3) Some X10 remote and controllers to switch on/off each zone equipment.
4) Any of the phone App, Android or iOS to control JRiver remotely.
Voila!
The system would be expandable in a large limit. Any guinea pigs out there?
