Title: Problems with ripped files
Post by: ptry on September 09, 2014, 04:05:49 am
I recently imported my music files to a new computer from my backup hard drive. All other files seem to be ok, but the ones that were ripped with JRiver (to flac) have lost all tags, and the program won't even add these files to the library.

What happened here and how do I prevent it in the future?

What I would do first when changing computers is take your library backup form the old computer and restore it to the new computer. If needed (drive letters have changed etc.) you can repoint the database using library tools=>Rename,Move & Copy

Actually, I would even start over from scratch and do this ... no reason you should have to retag.

Regarding your other issues

In options, have you chosen to write to disk (embed the tags) in each important field? (Manage Library Fields with Save to File (if possible) being checked?

You might also look at the autoimport settings. Maybe ignore files removed from library is checked?
