The handling with special characters is much better now - though far from ideal (why can't we simply write "é, è, â, č...." as in a normal text program?).
There is one behaviour that should be corrected. If I paste words with special characters into a tag field the words appear as pasted in the right bar but are broken in the tag field ("schön" becomes "scho n").
I appended a screenshot that makes things clearer.
