Title: Analyze Audio Tool not working in MC21
Post by: Jetndavid on June 14, 2016, 12:40:00 am
I analyzed most of my music previously using MC19 without issue. When I upgraded to MC21 the analyze audio tool no longer works. I highlight the songs to be analyzed, click on the analyze button and nothing happens, other than it telling me the songs are queued.  I let it run for 2 days thinking it might just be slow, but nothing I've tried gets it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

The analyze audio dialog has 3 buttons:  Analyze, Exit, Help .  I'm assuming you have pressed Analyze?

If so, how about trying it with only a few files.  Or one file.

I haven't had any problems analyzing audio with MC20 or MC21 for Mac.

I have pushed the analyze button and I have tried it with a single song. It does not analyze it but it tells me it is added to the queue.

I don't know what you mean by "the analyze button".

I normally engage audio analysis this way:

Highlight one or more files.
Right click
Library Tools > Analyze Audio
(New dialog box appears with the files that were highlighted)
Press the analyze button on this dialog.

Is this what you are doing, or some other procedure?

I am doing it exactly as you described.  I also have auto-import options set so that every Song added to the music folder gets analyzed automatically. That Is working. However, when I try to analyze individual songs it gives me the message "1 files queued." I have a second library with a few thousand songs in a separate folder that have not been analyzed. When I try to analyze a song in this second library folder using the method you described I get the same message, "1 files queued."  I am going to set this library to analyze all songs in the folder as well. It will take a long time to analyze all of them, but I have had no success trying to analyze individual songs and albums.

Something is weird.

I've never seen a "file queued" message when analyzing audio.  I get a dialog box that shows all of the files I have selected.  It shows columns for status, volume level, etc.  The *status* column says queued, but only until I press the analyze button, at which time it starts running the analysis.

What version of MC21 are you running?  The latest is 21.0.83 and you can get it from the top of this forum.

Maybe you can post a screen shot of what you are seeing?

I can't reproduce this problem. The analyze audio dialog box should say "# files queued" when it's in the ready state. Just to be certain, are you saying that when you click the 'Analyze' button in the "Analyze Audio" dialog box, it doesn't do anything?

You should do what Brian suggested and post a picture of what you're seeing and include a log as well.

Do you have the checkbox 'Skip analyzed files' set?
