Title: mp4/m4v from iTunes
Post by: drmimosa on August 29, 2011, 09:59:12 am
Can JRiver play videos purchased from iTunes in the mp4 format?

If not, can anybody point me in the direction of a legal conversion software that can convert these purchases into a format that plays in JRiver?

Thanks!

Ok, internet research seems to say that the only way to do this is to run a screen-grab recording program while the video plays, which is not worth my time and will probably look and sound terrible.

Learned my lesson here, 20 bucks blown to Apple for the last time.

You could set up QuickTime as an external player for m4v files from iTunes in MC. Then MC will start QuickTime to play your movies from iTunes. Works fine for me and is at least better than screen grabbing and losing quality.
