Owning a LOKI DAC now for 2 weeks, I was able to test it more in depth for the last 2 days - finding out that I have some severe troubles with it:
At first, all was working well - music is playing, I am quite pleased. Quick tests were successfull.
When i play music, after more than 8-20 min, music is stopping aprubtly. I need to restart JRiver to play music again. Looks like an issue with cache?
My system:
- Win 8.1 64-bit, Intel I7-4700HQ, 16GB RAM
- MC 20 (latest), same issue with MC 19 (latest)
- Issues with all kind of formats (mp3, flac, sacd), stored on a Synology NAS
MC settings:::
I tried a lot of settings - all with same negative results:
- AUDIO DEVICE: Schiit Audio Device
- DEVICE SETTINGS: 24 bit (integer), 100 miliseconds buffering (also tried with 250, 500, 50)
- DSP & OUTPUT FORMAT: DSD in DoP format - requires DSD capable DAC
- BITSTREAMING: Yes, DSD (also tried with "none")
- PREBUFFERING: 6 seconds (also tried with 10, 4)
- PLAY FILES FROM MEMORY INSTEAD OF DISK: YES (and also tried with NO)
I really donīt know, whatelse I could change now.
Dead end with LOKI and my computer?

Al ex, I believe you also have a Modi. Does the Modi work properly in this setup?

Yes, no problem with MODI. Of course the setup is different, as MODI cannot play DSD...

I am presently away from home, but when I return I will look at my Loki settings and compare. One thing that springs to mind is to try playback with files that are stored locally, just to remove the NAS from the equation.
