Title: Optical Drive Not Showing
Post by: RussellS on January 25, 2016, 12:02:43 pm
Hi, I wanted to RIP some CD's on my Linux version of MC as it will be more convenient than using my Windows MC server which is in another room. However in MC linux the 'Drives & Devices' section is completely empty so I cannot access the CD in the drive.

Is there something that I need to do to make the optical drive visible to MC.

I am running MC 21.0.37 on Linux Mint 17.2

Thanks for any advice

Russell

AFAIK, CD ripping isn't available in the Linux version yet.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I did wonder if that was the case but then I saw that there is a section in options under 'File Locations' for CD Rips so then I thought that it was supported.

Is there an ETA for this, or is this feature not ever going to be implemented?  I'm currently on the fence about purchasing the Linux version, but I would hate to buy into MC21 and have this (and other features) not appear until MC22.

If you need CD ripping, please wait until it is in the Linux version.  I can't say when it will happen.  Sorry.
