So any combination works?

Yes, JRiver Mac supports Media Network, so all remotes work with it.

Sorry but did I get this right?
If I use JRemote or Gizmo I could install them on my MacBookPro (10.8.5) where also jriver MC is installed (21.0.24, Master Licence). And after installing JRemote or Gizmo on an Android tablet I could use it as remote control?

JRemote and Gizmo are remote controls for Media Center.  Gizmo only runs on android, but there are versions of JRemote for ios and android.  Gizmo or JRemote can control a running copy of Media Center on a Windows computer, a Mac, or a Linux Box.

So if you already have MC running on your macbook pro, you can install gizmo or JRemote on your android tablet and use it to control the Media Center copy on your Mac.  You don't need to install anything extra on your Mac (besides Media Center).
