Title: Another one bites the dust...
Post by: skeeterfood on September 18, 2007, 05:19:25 pm
Seems the portable subscription model isn't working out so well...

First Urge merges with Rhapsody, now Yahoo! Music ToGo stops taking new subscribers: http://mb.music.yahoo.com/music/Support/threadview?m=tm&bn=mus-ymefeedback&tid=8548&mid=8548&tof=3&frt=2

I've never understood why Rhapsody, Napster, Yahoo thought they could charge differently for portable players than they could for laptops.  I mean you can license up to 3 computers (laptops included) to play downloaded content, yet portable players require a separate license?  The wonders of what marketing will come up with when you give them the tools (DRM)...

PS I wouldn't buy a Sansa Connect if I were you...

I never seen a point in it.
