Title: MC23 and MC24 side-by-side
Post by: steff on April 11, 2018, 03:36:12 am
Since MC24 is going to be released and I am stable with MC23

I am asking if and how it is possible to have two version of MC running on same PC, side by side.
I do not care about library.... more over... I would prefer having two library dedicated to each MC23 installation (since my metadata are all loaded into ID TAGS).

Just install the new version.  Leave the old one until you're sure you are happy with the new one.

I always change the skin on the new one so that I know which one I'm running.

The libraries are separate.

I just did it and...
just after the installation ended, I started MC24 and all the MC23 settings have been applied to MC24 as well.

So seems that even if I can install MC23 and MC24 side by side, the settings are shared across the installation.

Let me say it would be nice to play with MC24 without affecting the MC23 setup.

How to do that?

it's more the case that 24 picks up the settings from 23 but they are stored separately so updates in one will not propagate to the other
