Title: dsd iso playback from external drive
Post by: Hugo on December 23, 2014, 01:14:49 pm
Hi,

Today I switched to a new media player (mini pc) on Windows 8.
After installing MC20 and restoring the library all audio-files from the external drive work fine, except iso-dsd, they all give playback errors ("something went wrong with playback") which they didn't give before.

When I copy the file to an internal drive, it runs ok.
Also, opening the file in another application gives no errors.

What could be the cause?

Is this a windows issue or an usb3-issue?

cheers, Hugo

This really is a JRiver 20 bug!

If I clear the library everything all iso-dsd's run normal.
It has to do with changing th drive letter from D:\ to E:\!
This makes all music accesible except iso...

I think it's a setup problem, but there isn't enough information to tell.

I installed JR20 on W8.1.
I restored a library and changed all D:\ to E:\.
all iso's stopped working.
they run from JR20 when starting them from a different location (ie. C:\ or D:\).
they also run after clearing the library.

Do you need extra info Jim?

MC doesn't read ISO's by default.  Try the wiki or a Google search.  I don't know the answer.  It is possible.

hello,
I might have the same problem in MC24: a couple of months ago i moved the library from a NAS to a local drive in the computer. dsd iso are not readable anymore and i get the "something got wrong with playback" message as well.

I guess it might be a bug that arises when the library is moved.

any suggestion? shall I delete iso files from library and re-import them?
many thanks

i confirm that in order to listen to iso files once the library has been moved, one solution is the following:

1) delete iso files from library
2) re-import iso files with the import tool
