Hi,
since the last upgrade to Media Center 13.0.172 (portable install) I have been experiencing a number of crash of the application.
I cannot be 100% sure it is a problem of the latest release, because I have also reinstalled the OS recently (Xp SP2). Anyhow, before installing the new version I don't remember frequent crashes. The only plug-in I use is MiniLyrics 5.5.3160
I have enabled the logging and I will start to collect logs of the crashes. How can I submit them to you? I have already one log and here below some lines reporting the crash.
Regards

Did you try unisntalling the plug-in?
You can mail a log to logs at jriver, but please include a link to this thread.

Thanks for the logs.
As a test, could you try picking a different output plugin? (i.e. Waveout, Directsound, WASAPI, etc. in Options > Playback)
The crashes are around when we first start talking to the output plugin, and I'm wondering if there's some problem with a specific communication method.

Also, could you try a standard install instead of a portable install to see if it makes any difference? Portable installs are only recommended in specific cases; not really for laptop installs.
Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for support. Uninstalling the plugin or changing output mode didn't help. I don't want to use a standard installation, but I could do it as a testing action later.
Now I stepped back to 13.0.152 Portable install + plugin and the crashes are not occurring anymore; this seems to exclude that the portable installation is the cause.
I will test a few days and then I will reinstall later the latest
My testing plan:
- I stick with this old version for a few days to test stability of this configuration (if it works at least I have MC back - which is a big relief for me). I will continue to have logging enabled.
- I go to MC13 latest again for verifying whether it is still crashing. If this is the case I will come back to you and ask for futher debugging action
If any further ideas please let me know
Cheers
