Title: Slow Tagging

Running MC 23 for Mac. I have updated some genre fields as the library has expanded. Updating albums/files as needed using the tagging tool.
Some files update immediately while others are truly glacial, requiring several minutes to update the genre field. Why is this?

All files are ripped using JRiver or dBPowerAmp, all in ALAC.  Files are on a NAS.
