Title: Library Mystery
Post by: sebassie on August 30, 2014, 08:16:03 am
I have JRiver MC 19.0.163 running on a Mac mini. Music files are stored on a Synology. Each album has it’s own folder. If an album contains several cd’s each cd has it’s own subfolder. When scanning the music share MC finds the correct number of folders and files, but misses a lot of the albums. The share contains 6441 folders/albums. MC finds 6440 folders, but only 5941 albums, that’s 500 short!
As I have a Logitech Touch I run also Logitech media server on the Synology. LMS finds the right number of albums.
I hope someone of the JRiver team can help me to solve this MC mystery.

Can you share a sample from an album that won't import?  I'm matt at jriver dot com.

Cause of problem found. The library contains many folders with albums having the same name, but different artists. The names of these folders are different. However, these albums are grouped in MC and are shown in the tree view as 1 album. Question is now if there is a setting that makes it possible to see the separate albums in tree view.

Is Album Artist set?

Albumartist is set. I think the albums are grouped because they have the same name. The folders are not grouped as the folder name is <album name> - <Artist>.
In practice I solved this problem by searching by folder, not by album.
