This bug is there from the beginning in MC 18 and still in the latest build of MC 19 and is reported multiple times:
Diacritic signs create blanks in filename field.
If you write it to the filesystem they are there, too.

Would you be willing to fix this now or is the UNIX build more important to you?
-
I think there are more important fixes at this point. As an example, my and some others setups barely run since going to MC19. At least yours works!
-
I think different here :).
This bug exists since Mac-MC arrived and i and others reported it several times.
So i think it is time to fix it.
I don't like my filesystem to be garbled.
My Mac-MC experience is rather bad meanwhile - i can't import many of my files because MC crashes while importing.
This and other bugs are reported but they don't get fixed (not even acknowledged).
Not to mention the other troubles.

I understand. We all want it ALL and want it NOW. ;D
-
We're working on the bugs. Even if you don't hear anything.
-
These bugs exist since months - no matter if i do hear something or not.
They did not get fixed since then!

Could you send me one of the files that crashes on import? Dropbox works well for this - johnt at jriver dot com
I'm looking into the problem with diacritics in filenames.
-
Can't identify the exact file when crash occurs.
Sent a log - hope you can tell me which file you need.
