Title: Touch 2G and MC13
Post by: bil1010105 on June 21, 2009, 06:57:31 am
Yes, that old chestnut.

All I've read is that it's "more difficult than it's worth" to support the newer iPods like the Touch 2G (30 million users might say otherwise, but hey... what do I know...  ::) )

What I can't find is why. What is the problem exactly? Is it just that firmwares > 2.x are locked down tighter than Fort Knox?

If that's the case, could MC support a jailbroken iPod Touch 2G / iPhone?

It isn't that it's difficult.  It's that Apple has made it clear that it is willing to play games to _continue_ to make it difficult.

They do this at the expense of their users.  So I think their users should know this.

We won't support their new products as long as they continue to obscure their interfaces.

If you care, tell Apple.

For now MC supports iPods except for the Touch and the iPhone.
