Any progress on this? I'm having the same issue and finding it quite frustrating, since the default font is far too small on my monitor.

I've been using MC for Mac since V20 and have used almost every version since then. MC23 keeps my font selection. I'll double check this when I get home, as I haven't changed font faces or sizes since MC22.
I'd like to insure something about your setups though. Are both of you running MC23 from the Applications folder? Or are you running from the mounted installation file (DMG) ?
It will be a few hours, but I will report after I can test.

I've just changed font size and font face 4 or 5 times. I quit MC after the change, then restarted it. The font follows the changes I make. It stays on the last font and font size I set it to.
So, at least with my installation, this is working as expected.

I have two systems running MC23. On one, the font change works just fine. On the other, when I change the font family, it sticks but when I change the font face, it does not. In both cases, I am running from the Applications folder. Interestingly, the system on which the change works is running a High Sierra beta.
I'm changing the font by selecting Tools, Options, Tree & View, and Select Font.
UPDATE: I changed the font on the system that did not work to a different font size and it seems okay now. No idea why.
-
Weird. Glad it's now working for you. :)

I still have problems with changing fonts: JRiver don't save changes in script from "western" to "cyrillic", font is "Calibri" size 11. I tried with "Arial" - the same. What to do?
-
I'm having this problem as well, on High Sierra (10.13.2). I have my view size set to 125%, no retina. MC 23.0.90 remembers the typeface but not the size. It always reverts to 11 which is unusable on my 3440x1440 monitor.
-
Same with me. As I already posted under another (own) thread a long time ago, MC on every restart remembers the font but sets the font size to an absolute minimum that's unreadable on my Mac Pro (resolution 1600x900 60 hz).
Appended are two screenshots and the last log report.
All went well when I began using MC but six or seven builds ago this issue began.
It would be wonderful if there one day anyone could solve the problem.

Please try 23.0.100, available at the top of the MC for Mac board.
-
Regrettably even this newest build doesn't solve the problem.

Maybe you could try this (I've only tested it with "Retina" checked):
- Set > View > Size > 100%
- Set > Options > Tree & View > Font > Your desired font & font size
- Save and Exit MC
- Reopen MC ... did the font size stick this time?
- If so: now you can change View > Size > xxx %
It seems like if you have anything else than 100% set for view size it's not possible to save font size changes. Somehow.
-
Font changes stick for me, so not sure what could be going on here.
Which font(s) are you trying to change to? Does it work if you select another font or fonts?

Just out of curiosity: have you tried changing the font size while view is set to anything else than 100%? Do the changes stick after restarting MC?
-
ugee's advice did it. Setting view - size to 100% solved the problem.
After a reboot MC retains the previously set letter size.
Thanks!

Wait, so the key to reproducing this issue is having a skin size set to anything besides 100% and then attempting to change the font size? Interesting, I'll give it a go when I have some time.
-
Changing font size only when view size is set to 100% worked for me as well.

Please try build 24.0.53 to be posted shortly. This should fix these problems (hopefully!).
