Title: Upgrade for $23.98 -- ends December 12
Post by: JimH on October 19, 2011, 07:21:03 pm: You can upgrade now at a special price. If you have any version prior to MC16, you can upgrade at a reduced price -- $23.98 -- through December 12.

Instructions are on our Wiki (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Upgrade_to_MC17)

In either case, you will receive an MC17 license that works with MC16 or MC17.

A release is posted in a thread near the top of the Media Center 17 board (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=23.0). Features are also there.

We're currently at build 38 on the MC17 Beta board (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=23.0).

Anyone who purchased a license for MC16 or MC17 since October 1 has received an MC17 license. You can download and install either MC16 or MC17.

My purchase of Media Center 16 was eight months ago - less than one year.
Am I eligible for a free upgrade to MC17 or some form of discount because I made my purchase in Feb 2011?

Yeah but...

Also - it is very important to note that some folks (like me) won't be touching v17 at all in the early going...I will only commit to an install when it has some definite stability. I hope this doesn't knock me out of the running for a decent upgrade offer.

It's not yet possible. It will be, when the first MC17 build is posted. We expect that soon. The price will remain the same until then.

No. Sorry. We have to cut it off somewhere. The cutoff was October 1, 2011. For a week or so after MC17 Beta is released, we'll sell it at a discount.

Thanks Jim, I have no problem paying my annual MC tax, it is one fantastic app I could not do without!

After December 10th, will it be full retail price ($40 or $60 something?)

The retail price for an initial purchase is now is $49.98.
