Title: Default columns
Post by: rsg on February 08, 2017, 07:41:44 pm
Still haven't solved this issue, my only beef with an otherwise superlative program: I have set my column presets for name, artist, album, rating, genre, etc. Problem is...when I am switching around my music library from album to album, the program insists on randomly switching back to showing the default columns: Bitrate, file type, file path etc. Every time, I have to manually go back and select my preset (I am totally uninterested in seeing file type, bitrate etc.) Why does it do this? Can I make it stay permanently with my column presets?

BUMP.

I, too, would like some input on this matter.

I've read here that this happens on MC Client computers.  But, if you set the columns you want, in the views you want, on the Server, then that's what the Client will see too.

I run a stand alone setup (no client or server) and my column changes all stay set the way I set them.

Same here but my changes do not.  Any insights?

Columns are set per view.  Also per playlist and per smartlist.  Columns set in one view will not be set in another.  Unless you set them that way.  You can use column presets to save sets of columns and then rapidly apply those presets to views, playlists, etc.

I'm not sure why they would change themselves other than my above observations.

Can you provide any details of the behavior you are seeing?  Screenshots are worth 1000 words.

Ah.  Per view.  Let me give that a shot.  Does that apply to "Playing Now" as well?

Yes!  My Playing Now has a different layout than most of my regular views.

Thanks.  Changed the columns in one view, saved it as a preset and used that to change each of the others.  Took less than 5 minutes.

My man!  Nice job. It's a nice thing when I can guide someone to the proper solution to their problem.

Take care,

Brian.
