Title: How to load and use a VST in JRiver for Mac?
Post by: hionhifi on July 21, 2016, 12:00:05 am
Hello,
I would to delve into using a VST or AU like Voxengo MSED but am at a loss of how actually to load them into JRiver for use...

Can anyone walk me through or point me to an article that explains this. I've read the wiki, and searched forums quite a bit but haven't found how to do this.

When I go to CTRL+D --> DSP Studio --> Manage Plug-ins --> click Add JRiver, VST, or Winamp Plug-In nothing happens. I'm missing a step somewhere!

I've tried to load the aforementioned Voxengo MSED VST. I selected would I select Parametric Eq from the left hand column, then pressed Manage Plug-ins? But nothing happens.

I have a Mac Mini running JRiver MC21 for Mac.

Any help you can provide would be excellent. Thank you.

I can confirm that this no longer works on MC21.0.91 .  It used to work.  I just launched 21.0.83 and adding VSTs to that version appears to work.  When you press the button on 21.0.83, you get a system file picker dialog that lets you pick a VST.  On 21.0.91, the dialog never appears and just "does nothing".

Ok, so I'm not crazy!  :o

I'll downgrade to see if I can get them loaded from that version.
