Title: Added the ability to select the number of extra channels in DSP Studio > Output
Post by: whoareyou on March 11, 2022, 10:00:53 pm
When you add channels how does that impact the mapping to DAC channels?

So, for example I had previously configured 5.1 (inside 7.1 container).  That was converted to 5.1 and 2 channels, and the channel mapping for that seems to correspond with a 7.1 layout being output to the DAC.

Is there some rule that determines what type of container JRiver uses based on the various combinations?

To partially answer my question  ... It looks like if you add 1 channel to a 5.1 then the layout stays as 5.1 container mapping w/extra channel.
Add 2 channels to a 5.1 and it bumps up to 7.1 container mapping

When configuration is set to "5.1 channels" and you add 1 extra channel, is it possible to use the parametric equalizer to copy something to that 1 additional channel (i.e. for a second SW)?

I don't see how to do that except by going with the 5.1 in 7.1 container equivalent configuration.

Thanks
