Title: Can't get HDMI bitstreaming (for Atmos) working
Post by: Vaillant on August 18, 2017, 05:00:54 am
Hello,

Cannot figure this one out. I have a Atmos-receiver (Yamaha YSP 5600) so want to bitstream.
I use a Mac with Bootcamp. On MC Windows all is working as expected.
MC Mac gives me problems. Whatever I do it only passes PCM.

Spent hours trying to solve this searching this forum and the net.
Tried all combinations related to bitstreaming (device settings, combinations for bitstreaming, general video settings). Played with Midi etc.

What I know so far:
- It is not the receiver as it works perfectly on MC Windows.
- It is not the Mac. VLC can output HDMI encoded (it shows in Midi).
- Encoded audio in Midi is always greyed out when using MC.
- Whatever setting I use, Audio Path is active with a direct connection (no changes are being made). With some device settings (Channel Offset) it bypasses Audio Patch but there is no sound.

I must be missing a specific setting in MC. Any help is appreciated.

Greetings
Adrian

Bitstreaming is only supported on Windows.

Thanks for the fast reaction.

Just got to ask; why offer the settings for bitstreaming for soundformats in the Mac version if it is not supported.

Greetings,
