Title: Is it possible to play "live" from a USB source?
Post by: gtimbers on August 14, 2016, 12:55:17 am
I am trying to play a source other than a cd.  I have a A/D connected vis usb.  The Mac recognizes it as an input and both Audacity and VLC can receive it, but I can't get MC22 to recognize the input.  Is this even possible?  Since MC22 can read a cd directly, I don't see why it shouldn't be able to read another digital stream.

Any input would be appreciated.

I'm relatively certain that line input is NOT supported by MC for Mac.  It works on Windows, but only with specific audio drivers.  I don't think it has ever worked on MC for Mac.

I agree with your assessment but I don’t understand why.  As I mentioned VLC, Audacity and Scarlett all are capable of live play.  It sounds like a shortcoming in the Mac version of MC for some reason.  The PC version will do it.  I’m trying not to use multiple programs and I want to access the DSP features.

It is a shortcoming of both the Linux and Mac versions.
