Title: Auto Import on XFS File System
Post by: aslefnad on March 27, 2016, 05:19:35 am
i am running MC21 on debian with my music on a xfs drive. for my setup auto import does not seem to work because of the ifs file system. i use this only as a server and don't want to use vnc every time i add a new album.

is there a way around this? for example by sending the command through ssh or running auto import very x hours?

thanks for your help

Auto import is supposed to run a full scan every 2 hours, even if your file system doesn't do "events" to trigger it.

http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Auto-Import#Background_Scanning

You can certainly build a script to initiate auto import.  Look in the section on automation in that document.  You would probably want to use MCWS with wget in a shell script.
