Title: MC25 on Ubuntu 25 crashes randomly during playback
Post by: disc on April 11, 2019, 08:32:37 am
I was using MC 22 but decided to upgrade to MC25.  Unfortunately MC25 crashes randomly. Sometimes I can get through 3 music videos, but often it'll crash during the first one.  I still have MC22 installed, so I switch back to that version,

Have you tried turning off auto-import and see if it stops crashing? If it does stop crashing after turning off auto-import, you might have some bad files.

I didn't have any auto import folder configured, but I disabled all the settings in the auto-import dialog.
This seems to have helped a bit.  I can now get through a few more videos.  But it still crashes.  I started it from the command line hoping to get more information, but it just gives:
[1]    21637 segmentation fault (core dumped)  mediacenter25

I sent the crash report to jriver as it is too big to attach.

I had some instability issues that casued the odd crash in MC23 & 24 that were due to the desktop environment (culprit was Cinnamon I think)  ,what are you running?
