I've come across this interesting item:
two quotes from the manual:
The ADI-2 DAC was initially based on an AK4490, later on the AK4493. The current unit uses an ES9028Q2M for its high-quality DA conversion.
Units with ESS chip
These chips do not support DSD Direct. Instead word is that the included, extensive volume con- trol was designed so that it can even process DSD data without PCM conversion. Unfortunately official information on this topic is either vague or non-existent.
So, who does native DSD if the above holds true?
