Title: Bitstreaming DSD
Post by: rossop on June 29, 2014, 05:53:02 pm
I use JR 19 Media Network to stream to the new PS Audio Direct Stream DAC. It handles  DSD files when checked in the Media Network>advanced. I don't have a problem playing these files but they seem to be unaffected by volume levelling which I have checked for playlists because of the huge swings in level between tracks. They are way louder than the flac files in the same playlist.

Any advice please. ?

Changing volume (any DSP) is disabled when Bitstreaming is used.

thanks...this is the case in Media Network when volume levelling is applied? I wonder if  volume levelling can be applied some how in the future?

If you use bitstreaming, you are telling MC to deliver the file unmodified to the device.

thanks Jim...it would be nice to use volume levelling. Is it something that can be changed in future build variants?

Play as PCM and volume leveling is fully supported.  You also will get the same great quality.
