Title: Saving the setup
Post by: johnjen on June 09, 2014, 07:38:30 pm
I'm in the process of migrating to OSX-10.9 and want to manually transfer the existing setup of MC-19.

I remember this was covered in a past thread but I can't find it now.
And I've looked inside MC for the 'magic' button, but can't find the export or save settings option anywhere.

How can I get there from here?

Thanks   JJ

Backup your library, and restore it on the new machine.

Thanks, that gave me the path to the info to snag the files I need!

To be clear: The Library Backup contains backups of all of the settings files, and they can be restored separately from the Library proper.

The best, and supported, way to move settings from one machine to another is via a Library Backup.  All settings may not map perfectly otherwise (in particular Library GUIDs can get screwy if you do things manually).
