I can't seem to find the subject here but I may be missing it? For the past two years I've used the remote at home with no problems. Now, I am on the road and have brought along my laptop and music collection on an NAS. I'm attempting to use the remote with a Verizon MiFi and I don't understand the procedure I would need to do to set it up. Can anybody help me?
Thanks, Wayne

I don't know the Mifi, but you need to turn on Media Network in MC's options to get an Access Key from MC. Then enter it in JRemote or Gizmo.

The problem I'm having is that it is originally set up to my home system and that's all the JRemote seems to recognize. Do you have any idea of how I could get JRemote to recognize the new network via the MiFi?

not sure but you probably need remote access to your router .. did you allow port forwarding on your new set-up before you left? Did you allow external access through your firewall(s). Not sure if you can even check this if you are on the road and you can't get into your router though.
PS- the JRemote connection was probably just local (LAN) before right?

Thank you.
I'm not even sure that I can do what I'm trying to do: I have an external hard drive with thousands of FLAC files on it. I've taken it to another state along with a laptop computer that has JRiver installed on it along with a DAC. My hope was that I would be able to have the JRemote recognize the Verizon MiFi, a hotspot device. Maybe this is not doable?

Try resetting your Access Key by turning Media Network off and back on.

Thanks a lot; that simple maneuver was all it took!
