Title: Ability to Control Balance in MC20
Post by: HiRez_Lover on April 01, 2015, 08:33:40 am
Can someone tell me if a simple balance control has been implemented yet?
I see so past posts that mention doing it through the Parametric Equalizer but don't see an option there.
If this is the only way to do it could someone explain how.

Also, I suddenly lost my ability to REPEAT albums after the last song.  Every time I click
on the "repeat arrows" on the upper right it says "Repeat off (click to change)". I click, but it never
changes.

Thanks guy,
jay

With Parametric Equalizer just add a volume command on one channel and turn it down a little.

If you don't mind a bit of a fiddle to get it installed this great stereo balance VST plugin has great analog peak hold meters with balance control and a few other handy features.

http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=1216

Download the 32bit version and copy the VST2 DLL to C:\Program Files (x86)\J River\Media Center 20\ and then add the VST in the MC DSP and enable it.

I have it set to -8 nominal gain value but you can calibrate it properly if you want to go to the trouble.
You can toggle meter monitoring for signal in and signal out.

Use the Room Correction DSP. Set the speaker distances first. Then use the volume level slider for either the right or left speaker to shift the balance to where you want it. If you mouse click the slider, then you can use the right/left arrows on the keyboard to make small adjustments while listening.

Hmmm... Parametric Equalizer seem to have a better output for me than the supposedly dedicated Room Correction...  :o
