Title: Tv Series + Audio Album Cover Art - Expected Behavior?
Post by: tzr916 on January 23, 2024, 08:52:20 am
For new TV Series cover art I normally just use the "get from internet" to assign it. This works good, MC happily puts the new cover art in the default cover art > series folder. But when there is nothing found (or I don't like the choices), I will create my own jpg and manually copy that jpg file into default cover art > series folder, then perform "get from internet" and MC finds it and and uses it.

But if I then perform "remove cover art and delete from disk" => nothing happens at all, series cover art remains and the jpg is still on disk in the default MC cover art > series folder ?

Also - When using "cover art > add from file" then pick cover.jpg from any other location/folder => cover art appears properly, but MC puts the jpg file into the the TV Recordings folder, not the default cover art > series folder??? Now "remove cover art and delete from disk" => cover art is removed and is deleted from TV Recordings folder.

Is all this normal behavior?

Hmm, discovered similar happens with Audio Album cover art. Right click album > cover art > get from internet > choose/assign one I like. Go back later right click album > cover art > remove cover art > say YES to permanently delete from hard disk => the cover art does remove from MC but the JPG is still on the disk in the default cover art > albums folder. Why isn't the JPG being deleted from the hard disk?

At least with TV Series, there is several levels of cover art. File, Season, Series. "Remove Cover Art" only affects the File one, as far as I know, as the others are shared with many files, so removing it may be unexpected - and you also can't specify which one you actually want to remove.
