Title: Problems when renaming /usr/share/applications/media center 21.desktop
Post by: imugli on January 21, 2016, 11:33:44 pm
Hi Guys,

I'm trying to follow this

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=102327.0

however when I rename the .desktop file to remove the spaces (and so add it to the dconf) I lose the icons in the Unity Launcher and Window switcher (ALT + TAB) and instead get the question mark icon.

Is there a way to rename the media center 21.desktop file AND keep the icons OR use spaces in dconf?

Cheers,

J.

Yeah, I've encountered this problem too.

The file was renamed to media center 21.desktop when trying to fix the issue where multiple running instances were in the Unity dash. However, adding this (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=102752.0) should fix the issue meaning the file doesn't need to be named media center 21.desktop and could revert to mediacenter21.desktop. Thoughts, Bob?

Here's a temp fix to test this;

Code: [Select]
sudo mv '/usr/share/applications/media center 21.desktop' mediacenter21.desktop

Thanks.

I did that and I get the icon in the dash, but not in launcher or ALT + TAB.
