Title: Get Movie & TV Info...
Post by: TenTonnesofDoug on June 09, 2017, 04:37:14 am
Hi.

Would it be possible to have a option to control whether this function defaults to using filename as opposed to file metadata for the search? Files I've created from MakeMKV all maintain the name of the disk in the metadata, so different videos from the same disk always search under the disk name, which is often wrong. Usually I've given the file the correct title. I don't know of a way of changing the title in the MKV file itself.

Have I missed something that already exists?

Thanks

Get Movie & TV Info uses the metadata stored in MCs database, so if its wrong you can edit it there before (or directly edit it in the lookup dialog).

Ah, OK, thanks. So this is more of a 'getting things right on import' issue for me?

Yes. If a file contains "Name" or "Title" metadata then its being read on import - unfortunately we can't really tell if something is right or wrong. You could edit the title in MakeMKV before doing the rip, there is a text box there - personally I just clear that field so that MakeMKV doesn't write anything in there.

Leaving the MakeMKV name field blank is a splendid idea, thank you!
