Title: DVD playback error
Post by: MaxManu on September 12, 2004, 01:46:08 pm
Hi all,

Just purchased MC 10 and everythings looking cool except I am having difficulties playing DVDs from MC, Everytime I insert a DVD I receive an error message saying that 1 out of 3 DVD video streams cannot be rendered. subpicture stream.
Playback works fine in PowerDVD 5.

Software:

1. MC 10.0161
2. PowerDVD 5
3. DirectX 9c
4. Win XP Pro

Does anyone have a solution?

Best Regards

Have you installed multiple DVD player applications? If so, you could try removing the ones you don't use and re-installing Power DVD, then try MC again.
Does WMP give the same error as MC when playing DVD?

Hi all,

Just let you know that I fixed the problem, It seems that MC selects filters based on some metric rule, and the filter with the highest metric was incompatible with my setup. The fix was to download a a small free app called dxman which lists and allows removal of specific filters.

Anyways things r working fine now, cheers for the feedback.
