Title: Modify media subtype
Post by: MAS-Indy on April 21, 2022, 07:59:46 am
On importing video (movies) files, many of the files are being classified as TVShows instead of Movies.

Does anyone know how to reclassify these as Movies so that the "Get Movie & TV info" function queries the correct online database?

Also, what criteria is used to determine the subtype? Perhaps I need to rename the file so as not to confuse JRiver. Some of these misclassified files appear in the same folder, as sometimes I have multiple versions of the same movie, i.e., 720p, 1080p, 2160p, etc.

Thanks for any help.

Addendum: A significant number of these misclassified have 2160p in the filename. Is that confusing to the MC27 algorithm?

You might want to try MC29 to see if it's been fixed.

I have already purchased multiple versions. Would have thought that something that simple, i.e., accounting for a resolution other than 1080p and 720p, would have been considered just 2 years ago.

If it was reported, it was probably fixed.  But that's just a point of information.  No expectation that you'll want to upgrade.

It's free to try.

Update on this.

Modifying a media subtype for a movie or tv show is as simple as renaming the subtype in a list view.

Problem solved.
