JRemote has stopped working for me -- it insists on "wake on lan".
I've googled this and don't understand it. Can I disable it?
-
The latest Windows 10 mass update broke my JRemote access and I had to reenable JRiver in Windows firewall settings. You will see JRiver Media Center in the list when following the instructions below.

Thanks, but I run JRiver on a Macbook with JRemote on an iPad

Following advice in this thread: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=105232.0
I downloaded Fing. In JRemote settings changed the name of my Macbook to what Fing said it was. JRemote still didn't "wake on LAN"
Checked access key, address, and mac address -- all OK.
Can't check the port -- can't work out how.
-
So the port number is 52199, same as the number here:
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/WebGizmo
Now I'm really confused
-
Wake on LAN doesn't use port 52199. Try Google again.
But what is the basic problem? It may be a firewall issue, in which case 52199 should be open. MC uses ports 52100 to 52200.
-
What should I be googling?
Experimenting with the JRemote settings I enabled 'autoconnect to last server on launch'. Now it can wake the macbook and display the app tools, but says "nothing is currently playing" even though JRiver is playing audio.
-
You may have JRemote set to play locally, not on the server.

Think I've fixed it. Took a break then looked again at it. Bottom LHC: Current zone, tap to switch. Did so, switched zone and we're back to normal.
Why it changed in the first place I have no idea, but well, it works again.
