MC27 licenses are available now:
https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,126044.0.html
They will work with MC26.0.98 or higher now and will work with MC27 when it is available this fall.
All licenses sold now are for MC27.
Thanks for your support.
Where is MC27 ? (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,126045.0.html)

I'm confused about how the upgrades work. If I purchased a license last year - I have to buy a new version every year or is there a number of versions that are included with the original purchase?

No. You can use that license with the matching version forever.
Upgrades to a new major version aren't free.

Given that the newly available license is good for MC26.0.98 and later, and that the most recent stable release (as of this writing) for Mac is 26.0.94, what's the recommended procedure for pre-ordering the MC27 license while still using MC 26.0.94? Will installing the MC27 license make my current MC 26.0.94 stop working?
-
On a Mac, 26.0.94 may work. A newer build is here:

I'm not comfortable using anything other than the stable version that's "recommended" by the app itself (in Help > Update Channels). I'm not comfortable trying out a less-than-stable version. Today, the stable version is 26.0.94. What do you mean by "26.0.94 may work"?
Is there any chance you could make the pre-order MC27 license work with the stable version that's available when the preorder is available?
-
Try 26.0.94 to see if it works with the MC27 license.
The Latest build is always safe, but may have new bugs we don't know about. Read the thread first to see what problems have been reported.

I did. It's frankly kind of insulting to be told that. I don't think I'm asking anything unreasonable. What's the purpose of designating something "stable" and "recommended" when one can't use it with the current license?

I'm trying to support you folks. I buy an update every year. I have for years. I use this great software every day. But I ask what happens if I install the license you're trying to get me to buy, and you tell me "it might work" and "read the thread to see what problems have been reported"? Come on. What happens if it doesn't work?
-
The MC27 license *should* work fine with 26.0.94, but 26.0.103 would be my recommendation as it has additional bug fixes in place but either way it should work.

I upgraded to a MC27 Master license from a MC26 Mac license and I have no problem running the same library in MC 26.0.103 (Mac) and MC 26.0.101 (Linux/Docker)

If you already have a MC26 license, then there is also no reason to necessarily install a MC27 license right away. You can just do it once MC27 is available and keep using an older MC26 version with your current license if thats more comfortable for you. Your old license does not become invalid.

That is helpful & good to know. Thanks!

Finally upgraded from version 24 to 27.
I went with the master License even though most likely it will only ever run on my Mac Mini. Better to keep options open and also support the program development just a tad bit more.
-
I've purchased the master license because I used to have both windows and mac machines I had to work with but I no longer forsee ever needing windows compatibility again. Is there a discounted downgrade license to mac only from master?
-
No. Sorry.
-
Which new features are brings MC27?
-
I am confuse, because I am already playing mc28.

MC28 doesn't exist and MC27 is in development right now. The last version of MC that's available right now is MC26.
