Title: Streaming vinyl via USB ?
Post by: patmarcus on April 17, 2017, 03:38:57 am
Hi there. Complete Newbie here.
Ive managed to work out sending my stored 24/96 Flacs from JR via DLNA to my downstairs system. Next question is can I play vinyl ? My turntable is upstairs and needs to stay there where I rip from it into my PC.
The turntable is connected to a Roksan caspian phono stage and from there into a PS Audio Nuwave Phono converter. The PC is therefore receiving the vinyl as 24/96 PCM over USB.
How (in very simple steps) do I get it to play via JR and send via DLNA ?

Thanks

p.

I dare to bump this thread up...

I have a similar issue, can I somehow chose an analog source (eg over an USB ADC or soundcard input) in JRiver, to be played back in another room/over another renderer?
Hasn't to be 192/24 btw, 16/44.1 would be perfectly ok.

You can accomplish this using a USB ADC, Tuneblade audio capture, and an airplay receiver.

JRiver MC is not a replacement for a receiver.  It simply isn't.

That doesn't make MC any less FANTASTIC!  It's wonderful.  But it's not a receiver.

Here is an old post where I ran an FM tuner through MC. It worked well aside from a click/pop when connecting.
I have done the same thing with my record players and they worked well too.
The post was before WDM existed so it should be easier to do now. Likely soundcard doesn't need ASIO.
There shouldn't be any issue playing the audio to a DLNA zone.
Look into JRiver's WDM and test it out with your gear. Sorry I can't provide steps, I don't have access to any of my equipment.
