Title: Linux Mageia 5?
Post by: z10rog on October 18, 2015, 05:47:08 am
Is it possible to install and run JRiver Media Center 21.x on the Linux mageia distro? The ubuntu/mint guide doesn't do the trick.
I will seriously buy a jriver license if anyone can work out a step by step guide. Beware that I'm a noob to linux. Feed me with multiple spoons :). Thanks.

I've not encountered anyone here running Mageia, but it looks like Mageia is a Red Hat/Fedora derivative not a Debian derivative.  So The Ubuntu/Mint guide definitely wouldn't get you anywhere.  You'd probably want to start with the Fedora guide and change as needed.

That's about as far as I can take you unfortunately as I don't run any Fedora-based distros and they're kind of their own animal.  Maybe someone else can offer more.

cheers! I will have a go with the Fedora guide. Or simply just wait for Ubuntu 5.10 or Mint 17.3.
