Have just got a new Chord Qute EX DAC and when I switch between songs that have different bit rates there is just a very loud white noise. If I then press and stop and play the track again it plays back ok. Seems to be an issue with MC negotiating the bit rate with the DAC?
Mac Mini > MC > USB (data only cable) > Chord Qute EX > Preamp

Is this with "regular" PCM tracks, or is it DSD?
You might try going to: Tools > Options > Audio > Settings > Play Silence at startup for hardware synchronization
Set that to some small amount like 1 second and see if it makes a difference.

It was already set to 1/2 sec of silence so tried increasing it to 1 sec but no change.
It happens when changing from any bit rate, DSD to FLAC or vice versa plays white noise the first time and going from 16/44 flac to 24/96 or 24/192 and vice versa causes white noise on the first play.

More silence if possible might work.
You can use MC's DSP Studio / Output Settings to resample everything to something that does work.

Tried increasing the the time to 10 secs but it made no difference. Seems to be OK if I convert everything to DSD ut then the volume is very low and when I switch to either CD or the TV which are both connected into the Chord DAC the volume is extremely loud.
I replaced the Resonessence DAC I had in the hope that the Chord Qute would work better but I'm really losing faith in this product now!!
Are ther any DACs that this software does work with?

So that works, but not quite as you want it. Try converting to something else. PCM should work.

No point as I've removed the software now.
Why do I have to bodge or compromise because you can't write software properly???
PS - I'll be posting that screenshot now and basically saying that JRiver is the worst software everywhere I can now.
