Title: When you capture a lot of songs, the movement becomes distracted
Post by: Htahara on May 26, 2021, 05:37:56 pm
Please tell me.

I'm trying to manage about 250,000 songs in a database.
However, it is extremely slow and impractical.
(It may be taking a long time to load the album art. The response of the image display is particularly slow)

Search etc. reacts immediately.  However, the display after that is slow.

Will some settings, such as pre-cached album art when importing data, solve the problem?

Or is it the upper limit of the number of songs that can be handled?

MC shouldn't be slow with even a large library.  Are you using a network drive?  Or a USB drive?

Please describe your setup.

On a Windows10 64bit machine
The song data is saved on the hard disk connected by USB3.0.

The tags for song data are mainly in Japanese.

I mentioned in the first post that the search is okay, but if I write in detail
It takes time to display the search
 Search ends normally
 Displaying search results takes time
 That is the situation.

Make sure your USB 3.0 drive is connected to a USB 3.0 port.  Try another one.

Antivirus can also cause problems like this.

If you've just started using MC, it does a few things like thumbnailing and audio analysis that take some time.  After that, it will be faster.  You can turn these off in settings.

I created a similar environment for testing and tried it in advance.
Even if it was executed with a combination of a different PC and a different USB3.0 HDD, it took a long time to display in the same way.

Does it take time to create the initial file immediately after introducing MC?  I thought, but I asked the forum because it didn't improve after 2 weeks.

I haven't tried antivirus and setting changes.
 Let's set and check.

 Thank you for your reply.
