I just got the Teac UD-501 and am having difficulty getting DSD files to play.
I have the output mode of the Teac driver set to ASIO and the bitstreaming format set to DSD.
However, when I try to play DSF files, I get the error message that something went wrong with playback.
By the way, the files play fine in the included music player that Teac provides.
Any thoughts about what settings I should use?

The UD-501 supports DOP - so you should try that (in the same MC18 menu where you selected DSD).

I just got this DAC in today also and am having the same problem with DSD. Seems to work with PCM OK. I've tried ASIO, WASAPI, WASAPI-Event, and I have enabled DSD and DSD over PCM (tried both legacy mode and DoP) in all modes. None of them work and all throw an error for DSD. They all work for PCM though and I'm getting high-rez as evidenced by the display on the unit.
The included TEAC player works fine with DSD, but obviously I want to use JRiver.
Any suggestions?

Ditto here. I have tried DSD in MC18 using ASIO on Windows XP. Will try DoP on Windows 7 with WASAPI event style later today.
Native DSD works fine in both Foobar (foo_dsd_asio) and the TEAC HR Player. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It would be helpeful if someone with this DAC could test DoP.
To do this, pick 'WASAPI - Event Style' as the output mode and pick _only_ DoP as the bitstream format. Does that work?
Also, does anyone have a contact at Teac? It would be nice to talk to them about their ASIO implementation.

Awesome, that actually works, thanks!
Apparently I never tried that exact combination.

Great, any idea why UD-501 doesn't wok with ASIO in MC18?

Try reading the last sentence that you quoted.

Sure I read it, also I guess that something Matt discovered and therefore he wants to talk to Teac.

I don't think Matt had anything specific in mind other than that it is a lot easier to find a problem (Teac's or JRiver's) if we have equipment to test.
