I have a ton of CDs burned with MP3s on them (well over 2 dozen). I created my original playlist under 98se. It creates an arcane hashed algorythm for the location (and yes in retrospect if I had named each CD this may not have happened but that is water under the bridge). Well I upgraded to WIN2k and at least with one CD the name (location) has changed. It seems the OS plays a part in the creation of the naming convention. If I have to redo the playlist by reimporting each and every CD, cross reference against the old names, delete, rename, etc.
I still have a ton of discs still to add to the playlist that are not yet incorporated so I won't get to the repair redo step for a while but I sure hope to avoid it completely.
