Title: Podcasts re-downloading a lot of data.
Post by: 6233638 on August 03, 2013, 09:28:01 am
I've mentioned this a couple of times, but I have some podcast feeds which continually end up re-downloading videos - they're set to grab the latest five files, because there can sometimes be three or four items posted since Media Center was last open. Sometimes this is as much as 20GB of data that Media Center has downloaded multiple times.

Would it be possible for Media Center to check the filename or filesize to stop this from happening?

I've seen re-downloading as well for audio podcasts. Had to stop using it. It's a long time ago though. Not sure if it was ever looked at or fixed.

Every time we've looked at this, it was due to a server using a badly formed date.

But shouldn't Media Center have some checks built in to avoid this from happening?
I have podcast apps on other devices that don’t have this problem with the same feeds.
